Cousin Helen Mattson Bowers (Levi Mattson II - Peter W. Mattson - Dr. William H. Mattson - Levi Mattson) celebrated her 100th birthday on March 18, 2004.

  The city of Coatesville, PA was named after Helen's great-great grandparents Isaac and Mary Coates.

  Helen was an elementary school teacher, she married when she was 19 and has 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

  Helen was an active leader in church works for many years. She loved horses and her favorite book was"Black Beauty." Remember that Helen's grandfather, Will Mattson, was a farmer and large animal veterinarian.

  Some of Helen's hobbies were knitting, crocheting, and embroidery.

  Cousin Helen lived just 1.5 months short of her 104th birthday, our longest lived clan member.
